1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CloudSlash products and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using CloudSlash on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

These terms apply to:

  • CloudSlash CLI and self-hosted deployments
  • CloudSlash Cloud (app.cloudslash.dev)
  • CloudSlash Registry (registry.cloudslash.dev)
  • CloudSlash websites and documentation

2. Open Source License

The CloudSlash CLI, engine, and associated tools are licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPLv3). The full license text is available in the LICENSE file in the source repository.

Under the AGPLv3:

  • You may use, modify, and distribute CloudSlash freely
  • Derivative works must also be licensed under AGPLv3
  • If you run a modified version as a network service, you must make the source code available to users of that service
  • No additional restrictions may be imposed beyond those in the license

Commercial licensing arrangements are available for organizations that require terms different from the AGPLv3. Contact licensing@cloudslash.dev for details.

3. CloudSlash Cloud Service Terms

3.1 Account Registration

To use CloudSlash Cloud, you must register an account with accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

3.2 Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced at least 48 hours in advance via the status page. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruption.

3.3 Data Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to your data, including infrastructure configurations, scan results, policies, and credentials. We do not claim any ownership or license over your data beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

3.4 Data Processing

We process your data solely to provide CloudSlash Cloud services. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising, training AI models, or any purpose unrelated to service delivery. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

3.5 Subscription and Billing

CloudSlash Cloud offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice.

4. Registry Terms

4.1 Publishing

By publishing packages to the CloudSlash Registry, you represent that you have the right to distribute the content and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights. Published packages must include a valid license.

4.2 Content Standards

Packages must not contain malware, backdoors, or malicious code. We reserve the right to remove packages that violate these standards or applicable law without prior notice.

4.3 Availability

We do not guarantee the perpetual availability of any package. Publishers may remove their packages at any time. We may remove packages that violate our policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use CloudSlash products to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Interfere with or disrupt our services or infrastructure
  • Access other users' accounts or data without authorization
  • Distribute malware or engage in denial-of-service attacks
  • Reverse engineer CloudSlash Cloud beyond what the AGPLv3 permits
  • Use the service for competitive analysis or to build a competing product

6. Intellectual Property

The CloudSlash name, logo, and branding are trademarks of CloudSlash Contributors. The open-source code is licensed under AGPLv3. Documentation is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) unless otherwise noted.

Third-party trademarks (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker) are property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

7. Disclaimers

CloudSlash is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The service will meet your specific requirements
  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
  • Scan results or AI-generated recommendations will be accurate or complete
  • Remediation actions will not cause unintended consequences

You are solely responsible for verifying scan results and approving remediation actions. CloudSlash implements approval gates and snapshot-based rollback specifically to ensure human oversight of all infrastructure changes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CloudSlash Contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or infrastructure, arising from your use of CloudSlash products.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CloudSlash Contributors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of CloudSlash products, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may terminate your CloudSlash Cloud account at any time through the account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, with notice when practicable.

Upon termination:

  • Your right to access CloudSlash Cloud ceases immediately
  • Your data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy
  • Your right to use the open-source CLI under the AGPLv3 is not affected

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
